Here’s how to stay ahead of the festive cravings and be fit
It’s that time of the year when your torn between going for your morning run because you had two extra laddoos for dinner or extending your gym workout sessions by an hour because you had one too many beers last night.
So how do you party hard and eat your favorite sweet without feeling guilty?
Don’t worry, we’re here to get you festive fit.
Pick your party
“Most fitness lovers are very picky about which parties to attend. They are addicted to the post- exercise glow that continues to brighten the face long after exercise is done and over with.” says nutritionist Priya Dhammi Sharma.
Don’t let yourself feel sluggish and skip a day’s workout just because you feel lazy. You don’t have to put yourself through a strenuous workout after a long card party, follow your regular routine.
It’s difficult not to give into temptation, be it an extra beer or those pedas (believe me, I know), moderation will help you during this season. Indulge, you should, but DO NOT over indulge convincing yourself you’ll work it off. It’s never going to happen.
Find your fitness focus
“An easy workout or run is good to flush out the toxins from the body after a late night party. Also dresses fit and look better as exercising lends the right attitude and posture which makes all the difference,” suggests Reebok fitness trainer Gagan Arora.
If you’re one of those who feels besieged by your relatives or friends during this season, find your own space, hit the gym, go swimming,.. focus on quality and not quantity. Don’t party everyday and rest for atleast 6 hours a day.
Try body weight exercises to help maintain fitness levels and stick to your fitness buddies at parties like Batman and Robin.
Happy festive season y’ll 🙂
