QOTSA is all set to return with new album, Villains.
The Queens of the Stone Age announced their new album in a cheeky little video in which they previewed a new song ‘Feet Don’t Fail Me’ as well. QOTSA will be releasing Villainson the 25th of August this year.
It’s been 4 years since Queens of the Stone Age released their last album, Like Clockwork. The album has been cited as one of the group’s best works yet, with tunes that were as dreary as they were peppy. Like Clockwork featured Dave Grohl on drums, reminding fans of earlier collaborations that resulted in what’s arguably their best album, Songs for the Deaf.
While there’s no Dave Grohl this time around, QOTSA has found an unlikely collaborator in the form of Mark Ronson who will be producing the album. Mark Ronson is known for his work with some of the biggest pop stars in the world including Bruno Mars, Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga and Adele. While this announcement comes as a bit of surprise to some fans, it actually makes sense if you think about it. Both Mark Ronson and QOTSA frontman, Josh Homme share an affinity for all that’s retro or vintage. With Mark Ronson in the mix, one can only expect good things to come out of Villains. Don’t believe us? Well, hear the results for yourself.
‘The Way You Used to Do’ has got the groove of a 70’s funk song and give us a lot to look forward to for the 25th of August.
Until then, we’ll leave you with a good, old QOTSA classic.
