Noel Gallagher attempts to revive the 60’s

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying birds release new single, ‘Holy Mountain’.
Fuzzy guitars, throbbing basslines, a drum beat you can dance to, and catchy melodies – That’s what most people remember the psychedelic rock music of the 60s for. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds perfectly captures that vibe in their latest single, ‘Holy Mountain’. It relives the nostalgia of the 60’s with a clear influence from The Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s era. Sonically, the song is warm and lo-fi, perhaps in an attempt to sound a bit more like an older record. The production on the song is a clear aesthetic choice and includes clever brass sections and a flute as well.
With both of the Gallagher brothers releasing music this year, it’s interesting to note how drastically different their music is from each other. While both brothers will deal with Oasis comparisons for the rest of their careers, an Oasis reunion seems unlikely despite there being only two people in the world who do not want that to happen.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ third album, ‘Who Built The Moon?’ is out 24.11.17!
